Brand Color Psychology Series: Purple
Jul 29, 2022Did you know that the colors you use in your branding subconsciously communicate a specific message to your audience about who you are, what you do, and what working with you will be like?
Everyone has at least one color that resonates most with their personality, and is ideal to use in their branding. When you take color psychology into consideration when creating your brand, you end up with something that resonates with you and your ideal audience, and allows you to feel confident showing up as the leader of your brand.
What is Color Psychology, and How Does it Relate to Branding?
Color plays an incredibly important role in how your brand is perceived, how you show up as the face of your brand and the type of clients you attract. Beyond just providing a nice visual, each color (and sometimes, different shades of each color) has a personality type and “vibe” to it.
When you choose brand colors that resonate with who you are and the type of business you’re building, you will start to feel CONFIDENT showing up as the face of your brand and putting yourself out there for new opportunities.
Each color personality has a range of traits, strengths, weaknesses, preferences, and even interpretations. Today, we’re going to be talking specifically about how using purple in your brand portrays you to your ideal client.
The Color Purple in Branding
Purple is a color associated with being creative, visionary, and unconventional. If purple is your brand's main color, you're likely viewed as being luxurious and uniquely beautiful. You're gifted in giving love unconditionally, seeing the best in others, trusting in the flow of the universe, and increasing imagination.
As a Purple, your personality is dignified, charismatic, and alluring. You tend to be a free spirit. You dream big and feel deeply connected to the sacred and spiritual. Beauty, wealth, luxury, creativity, and spirituality are important to you.
People love to follow your lead because you stand strong in your convictions, which inspires others. They also love you for your generosity and charisma – two qualities that are absolutely magnetic for you.
However, some people may think you are impractical, unrealistic, or even delusional. Too much purple in your branding can lead to feelings of depression, especially if you work in the emotional space. So be careful not to overdo it with purple.
As a Purple, you desire to stand out from the crowd, have new experiences, help people and animals in need, achieve perfection, and discover the meaning of life. You value freedom, creativity, independence, generosity, dignity, and dreaming big.
You do a great job at connecting others with their psychic abilities while keeping them grounded. However, you may fall into the trap of holding yourself and others to standards that are difficult, if not impossible, to achieve. You likely struggle with indulgence, managing daily tasks, being late for everything, and being a team player.
Purple is a natural fit for any business helping their clients discover their own identity, as well as any spiritual or creative businesses – either service or product based.
